I pride myself on providing high quality dental treatment based on current evidence, using predictable and innovative techniques and materials. I am based at Ivory Dental Practice, a modern and welcoming dental clinic in Yorkshire. I provide cosmetic and general dentistry to patients from across the country. It is essential to me that my patients can be open and feel relaxed during their time with me. From the position of the dental chair to the choice of music in the surgery, I will do everything I can to accommodate you during your appointment. I understand how your smile can affect your confidence and work with all my patients to help them achieve healthy mouths with a smile they can be proud of. Whether this is through more complex cosmetic work, or simply regular check ups and cleaning to maintain the teeth as they are, I am happy to be their dentist.
I qualified from the University of Leeds with Distinction, going on to work in general practice gaining experience in endodontics, periodontics, prosthetics and tooth whitening. I also did home visits and treatment for patients in care homes with complex dental and social needs. I am passionate about education, whether that be teaching others through regular lectures and workshops or learning about new techniques and materials myself.
I have also worked full time in a major trauma centre as part of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery team, caring for patients with both acute (fractures, lacerations and facial swellings) and chronic (cancer, saliva gland problems and temporomandibular joint conditions) problems. I also worked on an oral surgery clinic in the Leeds Dental Institute where I carried out complex extractions and surgical removal of teeth. During this time I treated a lot of patients with both general and dental anxiety, implementing different techniques to help my patients feel relaxed and at ease.
I have a particular interest in the holistic care of my patients and believe that there can be many factors affecting both dental health and pain. I work closely with my patients to educate them and highlight lifestyle factors which can be modified to improve both dental and general health.
